Kwerky Cottage is a charming and characterful annexe situated in the south wing of the main house. As the oldest part of the building, it truly lives up to its quirky name and offers a cosy, unique experience.
You can enter through the lobby at the back or via the individual door, which is where the key safe is situated, this entrance gives you easy access from the driveway for unloading your car on arrival. At the heart of the cottage is the kitchen-breakfast room — once the old back kitchen — with a table and chairs for relaxed meals. It includes an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Washing machines and dryers are available by arrangement in the main house.
An ancient door in one corner leads up a boxed staircase to a landing bedroom. From here, double doors open into a bright, south-facing double bedroom. The landing bedroom contains two put-you-up beds, and you will find a shower room here. Another staircase leads from the kitchen to a second south-facing double bedroom.
Off the lobby area you’ll find the main shower room and an infra-red sauna, with access to the garden. The spacious garden room offers another dining area, a flat-screen TV, easy chairs and a futon that can be made into a full-size double bed.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautifully maintained south-facing garden — perfect for a picnic or BBQ, with several lovely seating areas.
Please note: Kwerky Cottage is not suitable for people with limited mobility due to the narrow staircases. Children are welcome, but please discuss your requirements before booking. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome by arrangement.
